Prayer Wheels
The cost of providing beautiful prayer wheels around the Great Stupa is $2500 for each wheel (there are a total of 108 inset in the walls of the Great Stupa). This money covers the cost of high quality carved copper drums and lids crafted by Nepali craftsmen, the mani mantras to go inside the wheels, stainless steel shafts and bearings, mounting the prayer wheels in place. Sponsors will have their name engraved under each prayer wheel. For $550 (incl GST) extra the sponsor can have the ashes of themselves or their family stored under the prayer wheel.
Lama Yeshe life size statue
The cost to design and cast in bronze a life size statue of Lama Yeshe is estimated to be $50,000. One sponsor has offered $5000. Sponsors will have their name engraved on or beside the statue which will be one of the permanent display items inside the Great Stupa.
Restoration of Butter sculptures offered to His Holiness
The butter sculpture offerings made by Thubten Khedup for the visit by His Holiness the Dalai Lama need restoring (they have been nibbled by mice). Cost for Ven. Khedup to fix them is $250.
A Perspex case is also needed to protect the sculptures. Cost is $500.
Coolroom
A walk in cool room is required for the kitchen a the Great Stupa Exhibition centre. The coolroom will first be used during the course by Lama Zopa Rinpoche in April 2011. Cost of the coolroom is $6,890.00. The sponsor of this item will be a guest of honour at the unveiling ceremony planned to be held with senior monks. They will also receive a special thank you certificate from Lama Zopa Rinpoche.
Security display for Jade Buddha jade halo
The Jade halo for the Jade Buddha for Universal Peace which was carved from “Polar Pride” is currently locked away in a secret place. It is our wish to display this item at the Great Stupa Exhibition centre. To do this we need to create a high security display case with display lighting. Total cost is $950. The sponsor will be the first person to touch the Jade Buddha halo.
Security case for jade Green Tara
We have carved a magnificent Green Tara statue from “Polar Pride”. This statue is currently locked away in a secret place. It is our wish to display this item at the Great Stupa Exhibition centre. To do this we need to create a high security display case with alarms and display lighting. Total cost is $3000. The sponsor will be the first person to touch and receive the blessing of the Green Tara.
